Channel Your Energy - It’s Worth the Bandwidth!
Utilize your communication channels on all levels! Your parents are busy people, so take the opportunity to send out reminders when it’s effective and top of mind.
Email Newsletters:
Send an informative email outlining the advertising opportunities, pricing and deadlines. Include information in the weekly, bi-weekly or monthly newsletter. Don’t forget to attach the website for ordering and the deadline as well.
Social Media:
Share engaging graphics or videos on all school social media platforms. Encourage staff to share posts for an even wider audience. TikTok is a great place to connect with buyers, but don’t forget Facebook and Instagram for the parental factor. Also, tie in a funny meme to bring a visual appeal to your advertising. Trust us, it works!
Be Visible:
Don’t just rely on newsletters and social media. Take the opportunity to be visible all over your campus. Hang posters with reminders on how to order the yearbook. Run Competitions or Giveaways:
Competitions are a great way to generate buzz for your yearbook by boosting engagement on social media. Here’s just one idea you can try:
Photo Sharing Competition : Ask students to “tag” their favorite memory of the year with a hashtag of your choice - for their chance to win a free book. For example, ask the students to share their photos to Instagram and tag #(nameofschool)yearbook2025. By doing this, you’re allowing hundreds of students to promote the yearbook on your behalf as well as generate buzz around the book.
Remember, early sales matter because it gets the student body interested in the yearbook, but it also is good business practice. Those first sales help yearbook clubs better forecast demand and begin to accurately budget expenses. By leveraging social media, involving students, and creating exciting content, you can generate buzz needed to make this yearbook one to remember. Let’s make this year’s memories last a lifetime! 📸✨
