Digital Storytelling in the 21st Century

The Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) is the leading international organization advancing the education of all students ages 10-15, helping them succeed as learners and make positive contributions to their communities and to the world.
Our Picaboo Yearbooks Director of Marketing & Education recently spoke to a group of middle level educators at AMLE’s Annual Conference for Middle Level Education on using digital storytelling methods in the 21st Century and projects that will inspire digital literacy.

She found that in addition to several classroom projects geared at digital and media literacy, there are a number of ways that yearbooks and literary magazines provide a project-based learning platform for students.
Working on high school and middle school publications programs such as yearbook, newspaper and literary magazines provides a higher level of thinking and creativity through writing, editing, design and photography.   The learning process goes so much deeper.
Picaboo Yearbooks’ cloud-based design tools and innovative mobile apps are designed to enhance the classroom experience and teach students to thrive in this digital era.
The presentation is available for download here.
